Recently we had to take one of our dogs to live with my aunt, he was a great dog, but a little too enthusiastic, and a little nippy. And in a house hoping for babies this would just not do. So off he went, and I was very sad, but happy that I still had Alice. Alice though, she did not seem sad. Alice enjoyed having more bed (unfortunately mine), she loved being the only one to get cuddles, and she loved having all the bones from clever husbands roast.
Poor Alice though, because she did not like being alone during the day, in fact she did not like it at all. She was so unhappy that when I got home from work, she chewed up my shoes as soon as I took them off.
We had a chat, Alice and I, and we thought about her problem, and we wondered what the best thing to do would be... Ali suggested that I quit my job, and although we pondered this for a while, I reminded her that she probably wouldn't be able to have any more treats... hmmm said Alice, that just wont do.
So off we went to the lost dogs home and we looked and we chose and we found Max... Max is great.. We love Max... But poor Alice is scared of Max. Even after I told her that under all that hair Max was under half her size, she still hasn't been convinced.
Today.. We hope things will get friendlier and happier, and our first day home alone together will be ok.

Hope there's a happy ending to your story!
